Off to see the Wizard to get a Brain!
This small hand painted stone resin figurine shows the Scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz. He has a a smile on his face, of course and is wearing patched pants, a pointed hat and buttoned shirt. There is a corn stalk hanging out of his pocket and a crow is sitting on his arm.
This piece demonstrates the great talent of Jim Shore. He has taken one of our favorite movie characters, the scarecrow, from the Wizard of Oz and made him come to life. He of course has a smile on his face. After all, he is looking for his brain.
The scarecrow definitely showed us that ” I think, therefore I am.” The Wizard of Oz is one of the most famous movies ever made, and this Jim Shore original definitely pays tribute to this character.
